This is my fourth published Elephant Journal article. I decided to do this experiment during the month of February when I was having a really shitty day and found myself projecting unnecessary negativity onto innocent bystanders. It was one of the more worthwhile things I have ever done.Worth trying if you are ever in the mood for some soul searching.

I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. I write to help myself and others heal. The more I write and share publicly how I am trying to function as an adult with this childhood trauma, the more I find that there are not enough resources to help and support those living with it. There is an entire generation of victims that have been living with this undeserved pain in silence. Trying desperately to block it out or move on. I believe that the most authentic healing I have found is through connecting with people who have lived through similar violations, sharing out voices and helping one another through the dark days. I manage a Facebook page entitled Awareness of childhood sexual abuse devoted to helping other survivors express themselves through honest, respectful conversations as to how we can live side by side with these parts of ourselves rather than continue to try to bury the shame and secrecy. Thank you for reading. Most of my writing pertains to abuse but not all. I think about many things and the only thing that has helped me is writing it out and sharing it.
